NFL for Cord Cutters
Sports are the number one reason why customers don’t cut the cord and drop cable or satellite. But as far as the NFL goes, you aren’t missing much if you drop cable. Most of the televised games are available free with over-the-air (OTA) TV using an antenna.
The NFL TV schedule goes like this.
Thursday Night Football – CBS – Thursday 7 pm – Free OTA TV
Sunday Afternoon Football – CBS & FOX – 3 games at 12 pm & 3:30 pm – Free OTA TV
Sunday Night Football – NBC – Sunday 7 pm – Free OTA TV
Monday Night Football – ESPN – Monday 7 pm – $20 a month w/ Sling TV
Monday Night Football is the only televised game you can’t get with free OTA TV. Sling TV is a streaming TV service that is $20 a month (no contract, cancel at anytime) which includes ESPN. Call us at Variant Home Tech (832)762-0527 for more info or check out their site http://sling.com.
Houston Texans
All the Houston Texans games will be broadcast locally free over-the-air except for the Nov. 16th game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. If you only watch the Texans then all you need is an antenna to watch all the remaining games except for one. For the Monday Night Football game, I would suggest going to watch it at a friends house, at a sports bar, or getting Sling TV for 1 month.
NFL Sunday Ticket
If you want access to all the games that aren’t locally televised then there is the NFL Sunday Ticket. Unfortunately the NFL Sunday Ticket is only available to DirecTV subscribers. There are a few exceptions though. If you are in an apartment complex or at a location where DirecTV is unavailable then you can get NFL Sunday Ticket. Also if you are a student at a university then you are eligible for it at a discount. Currently for students, the NFL Sunday Ticket U is $69/yr. You can go to https://nflst.directv.com/ to check your eligibility to get it.
NFL Game Pass
NFL Game Pass is available if you want to watch any of the 256 games this season after the game telecast has finished. The cost is $99/yr. Internationally NFL Game Pass has been around for a while but now it is available domestically in the United States. The main difference between international and domestic is that international users can live stream games. Go to http://www.cutcabletoday.com/nfl-game-pass/ for more detailed information.
